Patna, November 3, 2024 : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar participated in the sacred occasion of Chitragupta Puja in Patna, offering prayers and seeking divine blessings for the peace, happiness, and prosperity of the state. The puja was observed at two prominent temples in Patna – the Gardanibagh Thakurbari Temple and the Shri Chitragupta Adi Temple, both of which hold immense significance for devotees of Lord Chitragupta.
Chitragupta Puja is an important ritual celebrated by the Kayastha community across India, honoring Lord Chitragupta, who is believed to be the divine scribe of the gods and the keeper of records. According to tradition, Lord Chitragupta is responsible for maintaining the account of good and bad deeds performed by individuals during their lifetime. It is considered an auspicious occasion to seek the blessings of the deity for a prosperous and peaceful life.
CM Nitish Kumar, known for his reverence for cultural and religious practices, visited both temples early in the day to pay his respects. It is a celebration of the values of honesty, integrity, and hard work, which are believed to be the key qualities Lord Chitragupta rewards. For the people of Bihar, this puja is not just a religious observance but also an occasion to renew their hopes for a prosperous future.
As part of the puja, the temples were beautifully decorated with flowers, lights, and traditional offerings. Devotees, including prominent political figures, attended the ceremonies, marking the occasion with great enthusiasm.
