September 3, 2024 : Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched several significant development initiatives in Rohtas district, with a focus on improving infrastructure, education, and drinking water supply. The events marked a major milestone under the state government’s ambitious Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali Abhiyan and Saat Nishchay Yojana-2, both of which aim to enhance the quality of life for people across Bihar.
During the event, CM Nitish Kumar inaugurated the much-awaited drinking water supply scheme for the cities of Aurangabad, Dehri, and Sasaram. This scheme, which aims to ensure safe and adequate drinking water for the residents of these cities, was officially launched at the Anicut located at Dehri on Sone in Rohtas district. The water supply project is expected to benefit thousands of families and improve the standard of living in these key urban areas.
Further strengthening his commitment to the region’s development, the Chief Minister also unveiled a newly constructed building for the Tech Lab and Workshop at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Dehri on Sone and Sasaram. This facility, which is a part of Saat Nishchay Yojana-2, will provide advanced training to students, enhancing their technical skills and making them more employable. The ITI projects align with the state government’s focus on skill development, particularly for the youth of Bihar.
In addition to educational and water supply improvements, CM Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stones for several infrastructure projects aimed at bolstering the region’s law enforcement and safety systems. These included a Police Station building, Out House, and the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory under Rohtas district. The construction of a Joint Building for Specialized Units was also announced to streamline the operations of various law enforcement agencies in the region.
As part of his ongoing commitment to improving public amenities, the Chief Minister also inaugurated several solar light schemes in the district. These solar-powered lights will illuminate Anganwadi centers, Jeevika Gram Sangathan buildings, and various Gram Panchayat buildings across several blocks of Rohtas, helping to reduce energy consumption while ensuring sustainable lighting for rural areas.
Another key development highlighted during the event was the laying of the foundation stone for the renovation of libraries, Anganwadi centers, and schools in Bastipur, Bhainsaha, and Dihri. The renovations are part of a broader effort to upgrade educational infrastructure and ensure that students in rural areas have access to quality education. Additionally, the construction of playgrounds in several Gram Panchayats will promote physical education and sports among rural children, encouraging a more active lifestyle.
CM Nitish Kumar also took time to meet the beneficiaries of various development schemes, including Jeevika self-help groups and other government welfare initiatives. During his visit, he emphasized the importance of rural empowerment and community development, highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to uplift marginalized communities through targeted support.
With these projects, the Bihar government is clearly prioritizing infrastructure, education, and community welfare. These efforts are not only intended to improve the physical landscape of Rohtas district but also to promote a more inclusive and sustainable model of development that will benefit future generations. The Chief Minister’s proactive approach and hands-on involvement in the execution of these projects are a testament to his commitment to the people of Bihar.
