CM Nitish Kumar Takes Subtle Dig at Deputy CM Sinha’s Late Arrival at Patna Event

During Patna’s Mahila Rojgar Yojana event, CM Nitish Kumar deposited ₹2,500 crore directly into women’s bank accounts.

Patna:  Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha was made fun of by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for being late to a meeting that he presided over.

“Are you there? He remarked, “You’re a bit late.” 

The incident happened during Patna’s Mahila Rojgar Yojana program, when Chief Minister Nitish Kumar deposited Rs 2,500 crore straight into women’s bank accounts.

Along with representatives from other departments, CM Nitish Kumar and Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary attended the meeting. Vijay Sinha, the other deputy chief minister, was late, nevertheless. Vijay Sinha looked surprised when CM Nitish Kumar addressed this in front of everyone.

Following the SIR in Bihar, the EC releases the updated voter list.

Prior to the assembly polls, the Election Commission published the final voter list in Bihar on Tuesday following Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The updated list can be found on the poll panel’s official website.

Over 47 lakh voters who were deemed invalid were eliminated from the electoral records during the State Intensive Revision (SIR). 7.89 crore people were on the voter list as of June 24. Following the modification, 65 lakh voters who were deemed ineligible were eliminated, bringing the final number down to 7.24 crore in the August 1 draft list.

Later, 21.53 lakh qualified votes were added, while an additional 3.66 lakh ineligible voters were eliminated. This resulted in a final list of 7.42 crore eligible voters.

Bihar Assembly election

The timeline for this month’s impending Bihar Assembly elections is anticipated to be announced by the Election Commission. On October 4 and 5, a poll panel is scheduled to travel to Patna to evaluate the preparedness.

Voting is anticipated to begin in late October, shortly after the Chhath festival. The Election Commission is sending 470 observers throughout Bihar, including for some assembly by-elections, to guarantee orderly conduct.
