The efforts of the state government will make the trade of gems and jewellery easier – Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma – The share of gems and jewellery in the total export of the state is Rs 11,183 crore.

 

Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma said that the Pink City Jaipur is famous for gems and jewellery on the world stage. Gems jewellery business is making a significant contribution to the economic progress of the state, as well as is the main means of employment generation. He said that the state government is continuously working to promote this industry and to facilitate business for entrepreneurs.

 

Shri Sharma said in the inaugural program of Jas-2024 organized by the Jewellery Association at JECC, Sitapura on Friday that the jewellery made in Jaipur is recognized worldwide for its beauty and craftsmanship. For this reason, gems and jewellery have been identified in Jaipur under the ‘One District One Product’ scheme by the state government. Under which the state government will work to make this sector more developed. He said that in the financial year 2023-24, the share of gems and jewellery in the total exports of Rajasthan has been Rs 11 thousand 183 crore.

 

Gems Jewellery Park will provide employment to lakhs of people

 

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government has made hallmarking of gold jewellery mandatory. This has further strengthened the jewellery industry. He said that a Gems and Jewellery Park will be established in collaboration with the Central Government, which will create more than 1 lakh jobs. He said that there is a need to promote training of artisans in this sector, investment in latest technology and research, so that these enterprises can touch new heights at the international level.

 

Jaipur is the heart of the jewellery industry

 

Shri Sharma said that the gems and jewellery made by the artisans of Jaipur get a distinct identity in the country and abroad because Jaipur is the heart of the jewellery industry. He called upon the entrepreneurs to do more work for the economic empowerment of the artisans engaged in this industry. He said that in Indian culture, jewellery is not only an object of beauty but it also has cultural and social importance. The common people have faith in the jeweller, which continues to grow from generation to generation.

 

Will realize the vision of developed India-developed Rajasthan

 

The Chief Minister said that the state government is working to bring forward the person sitting at the last end under the vision of Antyodaya of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay. He said that it is our responsibility to provide the benefits of public welfare schemes of the Central and State Government to every eligible citizen. We all should take care of our duties as citizens. He said that all the people of the state should give suggestions to reach the goal of developed India-developed Rajasthan so that this vision can be realized.

 

Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated the program of ‘Jas-2024’ by cutting the ribbon. He also inaugurated the Gems World Magazine. After this, he visited the exhibition held there. He congratulated and wished the organizers for providing a platform to showcase Jaipur’s jewellery through the exhibition.

 

On this occasion, MLA Smt. Kalpana Devi, President of Jewelers Association Mr. Alok Saunkhi, President of National Council of India Gems and Jewellery Mr. Pramod Derawala, Regional President of Jewelers Association Mr. Nirmal Bardia along with a large number of entrepreneurs associated with this sector were present.
