Chief Minister held review meeting regarding maintenance of roads and bridges, gave instructions to officials

Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar held a review meeting regarding the maintenance of roads and bridges at ‘Sankalp’ located at 1 Anne Marg.

In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department, Mr. Pratyaya Amrit and Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Works Department, Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh gave information related to the construction and maintenance of bridges and bridges of their respective departments.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that since 2005, development work is being done continuously in all the areas of Bihar. To ensure that people do not face any inconvenience in transportation, a large number of roads and bridges have been constructed. Our aim is not only to build better roads and bridges but also to maintain them better. He said that we had decided to make a maintenance policy for the maintenance of bridges. The Road Construction Department has made a maintenance policy for the bridges. The Chief Minister also directed the Rural Works Department to quickly prepare a maintenance policy as per the maintenance policy of the Road Construction Department. He said that the Road Construction Department and Rural Works Department should prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the maintenance of bridges and ensure regular inspection of all the bridges. The Road Construction Department and the Rural Works Department should remain alert regarding the maintenance of roads and bridges and keep monitoring them continuously. Also ensured that strict action is taken against those responsible for any laxity in work.

 

Go. The Chief Minister said that information about the condition of all the old bridges should be obtained and inspection should be done by visiting the site. Take appropriate action for the maintenance of all bridges. He said that whatever bridges are under construction, their construction work should be completed in a quality manner and on time.

 

In the meeting, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Mr. Brajesh Mehrotra, Development Commissioner Mr. Chaitanya Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Dr. S. Siddharth, Additional Chief Secretary of Road Construction Department Mr. Pratyaya Amrit, Additional Chief Secretary of Rural Works Department Mr. Deepak Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Anupam Kumar, Chairman, Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation Limited Shri Abhay Kumar Singh were present.
