Bihar Signs MoU with Shankara Eye Foundation for Super-Speciality Eye Hospital in Patna
PATNA : In a significant step towards enhancing eye care access and improving ophthalmic services in the state, the Bihar government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Shankara Eye Foundation India, Coimbatore. This partnership will facilitate the establishment of a state-of-the-art super-speciality eye hospital in Patna.
The MoU was signed during the “Samvad” session at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna on December 13, 2024. The state government has allocated 1.60 acres of land in Kankarbagh, Patna, for the construction of this much-needed healthcare facility.
Shankara Eye Foundation India is a renowned institution with a strong track record in providing high-quality eye care services. The establishment of this super-speciality hospital in Bihar is expected to significantly benefit the state’s population by:
- Improving access to advanced eye care: The hospital will offer a wide range of specialized services, including cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, corneal transplants, retinal surgeries, and pediatric ophthalmology.
