Nitish Kumar who is the chief minister of Bihar on Friday he arranged a high-level meeting to assess the law and order in the state, in the midst of denunciation that was faced by Bihar government over a recent crime.

The meeting took place at CM’S residence and lasted for two hours in which top officials, including Chief Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra and Director General of Police Rajwinder Singh Bhatti were present.

Nitish Kumar said that “law and order is the government’s top priority” and that no laxity in ensuring crime control would be tolerated.

He has also advocated for efforts to improve policies such as adding more staff if necessary, increasing patrolling, and ensuring that support arrives quickly at the scene of an event or an incident.

The CM also expressed his happiness that the number of homicides due to land conflicts had decreased from more than 60% to less than half of the total.

Moreover, he also warned the officials to be wary of illegal mining activities, which were typically a start to more violent crimes.

One of the key points that was highlighted by him was the importance of having a “people-friendly” police force and taking appropriate measures against officers who fail to carry out their responsibilities in need.

The discussion took place a day before the opposition INDIA bloc’s planned demonstrations at all district offices to emphasize the NDA government’s claimed failure to reduce crime.

The state’s law and order situation has recently been under scrutiny as a result of a number of significant criminal acts, the most famous of which was the murder of former Minister Mukesh Sahni’s father, who was stabbed to death earlier this week.
