In a significant boost to rural water infrastructure, a major project under the Jal Jeevan Mission Punjab was inaugurated yesterday to provide canal water-based potable water supply to 67 villages in the Sri Anandpur Sahib and Nangal blocks.
The development was highlighted by Punjab Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, who said the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to strengthening basic amenities and improving the quality of life in rural areas.
₹43.46 Crore Scheme to Strengthen Water Supply
The project, developed at a cost of ₹43.46 crore, aims to ensure a reliable supply of clean and safe drinking water to thousands of families living across 67 villages. The scheme is expected to reduce dependence on traditional water sources and provide residents with better access to potable water.

ਅੱਜ ਜਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਧੀਨ ਬਲਾਕ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੰਦਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਅਤੇ ਨੰਗਲ ਦੇ 67 ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਹਿਰੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਆਧਾਰਿਤ ਪੀਣਯੋਗ ਜਲ ਸਪਲਾਈ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ 43.46 ਕਰੋੜ ਰੁਪਏ ਦੀ ਲਾਗਤ ਨਾਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਮਹੱਤਵਪੂਰਨ ਸਕੀਮ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
