The wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Sunita Kejriwal, criticized Mangutta Reddy’s comments to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a video statement she posted on Saturday.

Highlighting Reddy’s contradictions in her assertions. She questioned the possibility of someone requesting money on their first meeting in front of numerous witnesses, pointing out that Reddy had acknowledged to seeing Arvind Kejriwal on March 16, 2021, for the first and only time.

“After five months of torture, Mangutta Reddy’s son and family were given false information by MSR to the ED. Sunita stated in her testimony that “the court also stated that Mangutta Reddy was given a lollipop in the form of bail while granting bail to Kejriwal ji.”

Magunta Raghava, son of MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, was awarded ‘approver’ status by the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi on May 2. On February 10, 2023, Raghava was taken into custody in relation to the fraud.

Dinesh Arora, a businessman from Delhi, was one of the other accused who the court had previously determined to be an approver. Regarding claimed kickbacks of Rs 100 crore in the suspected scam, Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy has also been questioned by the CBI.

Sunita further stated that Mangutta Reddy’s son and family endured five months of torture, which caused Reddy to lie to the ED. When granting Arvind Kejriwal bail, Sunita claimed the court stated, “Mangutta Reddy was given a lollipop in the form of bail.”

Arvind Kejriwal, the son of Delhi, has become a victim of a political conspiracy. We must support him now because he is a well-educated and steadfastly honest individual,” Sunita continued.

On June 25, the Delhi High Court denied Kejriwal’s bail request in response to a plea from the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Judge Sudhir Kumar Jain’s bench suspended the trial court’s June 20 bail ruling in the alleged money laundering excise fraud, stating that the trial court “did not apply its mind while granting bail to Kejriwal in money laundering case.”
