New Delhi : The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has started the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation process for students who wish to verify or reassess their Class 12 board examination marks. Eligible students can apply online through the official CBSE website till May 29.
CBSE 12th Re-evaluation : Reduces Fees for Re-evaluation and Scanned Answer Sheets
Under the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation process, students can also apply for scanned copies of their evaluated answer books till May 22. In a major relief for students, CBSE has significantly reduced the fees for obtaining scanned copies and requesting re-evaluation.
As per the revised structure, the fee for obtaining a scanned copy of evaluated answer books has been reduced from ₹700 to ₹100. Similarly, the fee for re-evaluation has been lowered from ₹100 per question to ₹25 per question, making the process more affordable for students.
Only Students Applying for Photocopies Eligible for Re-evaluation
CBSE clarified that only those students who first apply for photocopies of their answer books will be eligible for verification or re-evaluation. Scanned copies of answer sheets will be made available in the students’ login accounts on the official website.
The board stated that applications under the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation process will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis. Students can apply for one or multiple subjects, but the application must be submitted in a single attempt.
CBSE Says Revised Marks Will Be Final
Students have also been advised to check the official marking schemes and question papers before applying for re-evaluation. CBSE noted that marks may either increase or decrease after reassessment, and the final result declared after the CBSE 12th Re-evaluation process will be binding and final.
The board further mentioned that students can obtain scanned answer sheets under the RTI Act 2005, but requests for re-evaluation or grievance redressal cannot be filed under the RTI Act.
