New Delhi: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami met with Union Minister of Jal Shakti, Shri CR Paatil, in New Delhi to discuss key initiatives aimed at ensuring a successful, well-organized, and environmentally safe Haridwar Kumbh 2027.
During the meeting, CM Dhami requested the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) to expedite approval for projects worth ₹408.82 crore, aimed at infrastructure development and environmental management for the mega event.

CM Dhami Seeks Approval for Flood Protection and Irrigation Projects
In addition, the CM Dhami sought approval for flood protection works with proposals totaling ₹253 crore, and additional funds under the Jal Jeevan Mission to strengthen water supply initiatives. CM Dhami also requested the enhancement of irrigation capacity for the Iqbalpur, Kankhal, and Jagjitpur canal systems, which is expected to benefit around 13,000 hectares of land, improving both irrigation facilities and drinking water supply in the region.
