New Delhi: In a major step toward modernising Punjab’s education system, Education Minister Harjot Bains led a high-level delegation from the School Education Department to the India AI Impact Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The visit aimed at exploring scalable, AI-powered solutions to enhance learning outcomes across the state’s extensive school network.
Accompanied by Secretary School Education Sonali Giri, PSEB Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh, and Director General School Education (DGSE) Mr. Arvind, the Minister engaged in strategic discussions with leading global technology companies, including Google, Deloitte, Intel, OpenAI, NVIDIA, and Dell. The deliberations focused on integrating advanced artificial intelligence tools into Punjab’s education system to transform teaching methodologies and classroom experiences.

The delegation also interacted with officials from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Education to understand the national AI framework, digital public infrastructure, and governance models that could be adapted to strengthen Punjab’s education ecosystem.
Harjot Bains Engages AI Innovators to Boost Smart Learning
In addition, the Minister Harjot Bains held detailed discussions with AI and education innovators such as Wadhwani AI, gnani.ai, and Bodh.ai. The talks centered on practical AI-based applications in school education, including Personalised Adaptive Learning (PAL), strengthening Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), AI-enabled assessments, multilingual learning platforms, teacher support tools, and real-time data analytics for improved governance and infrastructure monitoring.
