Amit Shah to Visit Assam, Launch Vibrant Villages Programme and Attend CRPF Parade

Union Home Minister to inaugurate VVP in Cachar, lay foundation for Assam Police battalion, and participate in CRPF annual day celebrations

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Assam for a two-day trip starting Friday. During the visit, he will launch the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ (VVP) in Cachar district, an initiative aimed at strengthening border infrastructure and promoting local livelihoods, and also address a public gathering.

Originally expected to arrive on Thursday night, Amit Shah will now reach the state around noon on Friday and proceed to the Natanpur border outpost, officials said. He will then inaugurate the VVP at Natanpur village and address a public meeting there.

This marks Shah’s third visit to poll-bound Assam since December 29, as the ruling BJP aims to retain power for a third consecutive term. After his engagements in Cachar, Shah will travel to Agartala and return to Guwahati by Friday evening.

Amit Shah to Celebrate CRPF Day and Inaugurate 10th Assam Police Battalion Campus

On Saturday, Amit Shah will participate in the CRPF’s annual day parade at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex in Guwahati. He will also lay the foundation stone for the new campus of the 10th Assam Police Battalion at Kasutoli in Sonapur.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, in a post on X, said, “Assam is all set to welcome Adarniya @Amit Shah ji tomorrow as he will dedicate a host of initiatives to the people to further our development journey. Adarniya Griha Mantri will also join the CRPF Day celebrations on 21st.”

With 126 assembly constituencies, Assam is expected to go to polls in March-April, and BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, are making frequent visits to the state to bolster election preparations.
