Jalandhar : In a major step towards promoting the teachings of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji, Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema announced that the state government has secured physical possession of 10.50 acres of land at villages Naugajja and Faridpur on Kartarpur Road, Jalandhar, for the construction of the Sri Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre.
The land acquisition process was completed in the presence of Minister Harpal Cheema, MLA Balkar Singh, Chairman Punjab Agriculture Development Bank Pawan Teenu, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, and representatives of Dera Sachkhand Ballan.
Speaking on the occasion, Harpal Cheema said, “It is a matter of immense pride that the government has secured this land to develop a state-of-the-art institution dedicated to Guru Ravidass Ji’s teachings. This marks a significant milestone in translating our commitment into concrete action.”

He added that the government will spend ₹55 lakh to relocate high-tension electricity lines from the site, ensuring that construction can proceed without delays. With the registration of sale deeds already completed, the project has now entered a critical execution phase. Experts, in consultation with Dera representatives, are preparing the design and layout, and tenders will be floated soon to begin construction.
Harpal Cheema: Centre to Promote Scholarship and Legacy of Guru Ravidass Ji
Minister Cheema reiterated that the Sri Guru Ravidass Bani Adhyayan Centre will serve as a hub for scholarship and propagation of Guru Ji’s spiritual and social teachings. He emphasized that the Punjab Government remains steadfast in preserving and promoting the legacy of Guru Ravidass Ji for future generations.
Highlighting the upcoming celebrations, Harpal Cheema noted that the government has planned year-long events to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, aimed at fostering communal harmony and reverence for his teachings across Punjab.

Representatives of Dera Sachkhand Ballan expressed gratitude to the Punjab Government for executing the project promptly and fulfilling the long-standing demands of the Sangat.
Later, Minister Harpal Cheema , along with MLA Balkar Singh, Chairman Pawan Teenu, Senior AAP Leader Nitin Kohli, and Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, visited Dera Sachkhand Ballan to pay respects and seek blessings from Dera Chief Sant Niranjan Dass Ji.
