India’s 14-year-old cricket sensation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, did not appear for his 10th board exams on February 17. Speaking to the media, Vaibhav’s father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, revealed the reason behind his son’s absence. Sanjeev stated that Vaibhav has decided to focus entirely on cricket for now and is currently participating in the Rajasthan Royals’ pre-season camp.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Decision to Prioritize Cricket
According to a report by Mid-Day, Sanjeev confirmed that Vaibhav Suryavanshi is in Nagpur, training with the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL season. Vaibhav will skip this year’s board exams and plans to reappear next year.

Sanjeev explained that had Vaibhav Suryavanshi attended the exams, he would not have been able to fully concentrate on his game. “Vaibhav is a bright student, but at the moment, cricket is his top priority,” he said. “When he attended school regularly, he performed exceptionally well academically, scoring over 90% in all subjects. But for now, his focus is on cricket.”
On February 17, Vaibhav was marked absent at Podar International School. The school principal, N.K. Sinha, confirmed that his absence was recorded as per school regulations.
