As part of its ongoing crackdown on corruption, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Rajinder Singh, a Naib Court posted in the court of the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Kapurthala, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹8,000.

According to an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau, the arrest was made following a complaint filed by a resident of Nakodar in Jalandhar district. The complainant, who works as a labourer, stated that he and his associate, Joban, had been arrested by the police in a case under Section 128 of the BNSS (earlier Section 109 Cr.P.C.) and were subsequently produced before the SDM court in Kapurthala. The complainant was later released on a surety bond, and the next hearing in the case was scheduled for February 18, 2026.
