Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri’s O’Romeo, released during Valentine’s week to capitalise on the romantic rush and weekend audiences, saw an initial surge in collections on February 14 (Valentine’s Day). However, the momentum slowed quickly, with the film earning only Rs 4.75 crore on its first Monday, marking a 47.22% drop compared to Sunday.
Box Office Collections
The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial opened on February 13 with Rs 8.5 crore. Collections peaked on Valentine’s Day with Rs 12.65 crore. Despite challenges like Maha Shivratri and the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup Group A clash affecting footfalls in some regions, Sunday earnings hovered around Rs 9 crore. After four days, O’Romeo has grossed Rs 34.9 crore in India.
While the film has not joined the ranks of Shahid Kapoor’s highest-grossing Hindi releases, it has fared comparatively better for Triptii Dimri, ranking as her fourth-highest-grossing film.

Occupancy and Budget Details
The film recorded 7.12% occupancy in morning shows on Monday, rising to 11.92% in the afternoon and 11.53% in the evening. Night shows saw the highest turnout at 15.89%, resulting in an overall occupancy of 11.62% for the day.
With a reported production budget of Rs 130 crore, O’Romeo has yet to recover even half of its investment after four days. Box office experts warn that if weekday collections do not improve, the film may struggle to reach the breakeven mark.
Cast and Inspiration
Produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’Romeo is directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and draws inspiration from a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Alongside Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, the film stars Vikrant Massey, Tamannaah Bhatia, Avinash Tiwary, Disha Patani, Farida Jalal, and Nana Patekar among others.
