IndiGo Extends Flight Disruptions to March 28 Amid Iran Tensions

IndiGo issues second travel advisory, extending flight cancellations to Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku & Tashkent until March 28 due to Iran tensions.

IndiGo on Monday issued its second travel advisory warning that flight operations over Iranian airspace will continue to be affected due to escalating tensions in the region. Flights to and from Tbilisi, Almaty, Baku, and Tashkent remain disrupted, following heightened geopolitical concerns involving Iran and the United States.

The airline clarified on X that cancellations initially announced until February 28 have now been extended until March 28, 2026. IndiGo emphasised that passenger and crew safety remains the top priority and that schedules are being continuously monitored to minimise inconvenience. Passengers are advised to check the airline’s official website for alternative travel options.

 IndiGo Updates Travel Advisory Over Iranian Airspace Concerns

This advisory comes as Iranian officials prepare for the second round of talks with the US in Switzerland, scheduled for Tuesday. In parallel, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards conducted a naval exercise in the Strait of Hormuz, named “Smart Control of Hormuz Strait,” to test operational readiness against potential threats, according to Tasnim News Agency.

Additionally, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), for in-depth discussions on nuclear matters. Rising tensions follow the US deployment of a second aircraft carrier to the Middle East, prompting Iran to warn of potential counterattacks on US military bases if hostilities escalate.
