Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami has reiterated the state government’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, following a series of recent criminal incidents. Through ongoing law-and-order review meetings, the Chief Minister issued firm directives to officials, emphasizing the administration’s full commitment to tackling crime effectively.
In response to these incidents, police teams swiftly apprehended the accused within stipulated timeframes. Dhami has instructed authorities to strengthen both reactive measures after crimes occur and proactive strategies to prevent future offences.
Administrative transfers within the police department have been carried out to enhance accountability, efficiency, and responsiveness. The Chief Minister highlighted the need to bolster the intelligence informer network, instill fear of law among criminals, and build public confidence in the police. He stressed that citizens should feel safe approaching the police and expect timely justice.

Health and Welfare Initiatives for Media Personnel: Pushkar Dhami
Separately, Pushkar Dhami directed the organisation of special medical and health camps for journalists, recognising the challenges of their demanding schedules. In accordance, a one-day health camp was held on Thursday at the Haldwani Media Centre, organised jointly by the Information and Public Relations Department and the Health and Medical Department.
The event was attended by District Magistrate Lalit Mohan Rayal, Chief Medical Officer of Nainital, and Joint Director Information Nitin Upadhyay, who assessed the medical services provided.

Commenting on the initiative, the District Magistrate said, “Healthy journalism forms the backbone of a strong democracy. Free, fair, and fearless media are vital for administrative accountability and societal awareness.” He added that the state government prioritises the health and welfare of media personnel and is committed to ensuring their well-being.
