Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij on Friday chaired a meeting of the District Public Grievances Redressal Committee in Kaithal, issuing firm directions in multiple cases and reiterating the state government’s commitment to accountability and swift resolution of public complaints.
During the proceedings, the Minister ordered the immediate suspension of an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in connection with a land dispute and directed that a criminal case be registered. In a separate matter involving allegations of bribery, he instructed officials to lodge an FIR against a Junior Engineer (JE). A total of 15 complaints—nine pending and six new—were reviewed at the meeting. Vij emphasized that officials must respond promptly and responsibly to grievances raised by citizens.
Anil Vij Orders Detailed Investigation into Municipal Works and Illegal Borewell Cases
Taking cognizance of a complaint alleging financial irregularities in development works carried out over the past three-and-a-half years by the Rajound Municipal Committee, the Minister directed the Haryana Vigilance Department to conduct a thorough probe. In another case concerning illegal borewell connections in a housing colony in Village Pai, he ordered the formation of an inquiry committee under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), directing that a detailed report be presented at the next meeting.

Anil Vij also cautioned that if any complaint is found to be false, appropriate action would be taken against the complainant as per rules. Additionally, he directed recovery of financial assistance granted under the Marriage Shagun Scheme from a beneficiary found to be ineligible.
Directions for CBI Probe and Strict Administrative Action
While hearing a complaint by Sandeep Malik of Village Titram and others regarding the alleged improper transfer and cancellation of a land-related case without consent, the Minister ordered suspension of the concerned police official pending inquiry. He stressed that due legal procedure must be followed and the complainants be given a fair hearing.
In another complaint, Krishna Kumar of Village Kithana alleged that a Junior Engineer had demanded a bribe for shifting a transformer in Sanghan. The Minister directed the power distribution company (Discom) to immediately relocate the transformer and register a case against the JE based on the allegations.
Addressing a plea by Neetu Maun of Rishi Nagar regarding the murder of her brother, Anil Vij spoke with the Home Secretary and urged swift action on Kaithal Police’s request for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe. He instructed the Superintendent of Police to review the case progress weekly and ensure the investigation continues until the Central Bureau of Investigation formally assumes charge. He further directed that necessary court approval be obtained for conducting a narco test if required.
