New Delhi: The Lok Sabha witnessed another day of chaos on Wednesday as Congress MPs raised slogans demanding that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) be allowed to speak, forcing the House to adjourn just minutes after it reconvened. The disruption comes amid heightened tensions during the Budget Session, following the suspension of eight Opposition members for unruly conduct the previous day. Adding to the political drama, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said he plans to present a book to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address in Parliament.
House Adjourned Within Minutes
The House assembled at 2 pm but was adjourned within 10 minutes as Opposition MPs continued chanting “LoP ko bolne do” while staging a protest inside the Parliament complex. Repeated appeals from the Chair failed to restore order.

The adjournment follows Tuesday’s suspension of eight Opposition MPs, widening the gap between the ruling party and opposition benches. Opposition leaders accused the government of stifling debate, while the ruling side defended its actions as necessary to ensure the smooth functioning of parliamentary proceedings. The repeated disruptions have delayed key legislative business, raising concerns over the pace of work during the critical Budget Session.
Lok Sabha : Rahul Gandhi to Present Memoir to PM Modi
Amid the uproar, Rahul Gandhi told reporters that he intends to give Prime Minister Modi a memoir by former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane when the Prime Minister addresses the House.
“When the Prime Minister speaks in Parliament, I will present him this book,” Gandhi said, noting that it contains detailed material. He added that he had been advised not to quote directly but insisted the book includes key insights.
The remark added another layer to the ongoing confrontation, signaling that Opposition leaders plan to continue pressing their demands both inside and outside Parliament.
With protests showing no sign of abating, the House was adjourned until Thursday afternoon, delaying the Prime Minister’s scheduled address on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address. The Budget Session is expected to remain turbulent as both sides dig in amid growing political tensions
