Patna: The Bihar government is set to procure four high-security vehicles for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Sources indicate that the CM may soon travel in luxury bulletproof SUVs, including models like the Range Rover. This will mark the first time Nitish Kumar will use such high-end vehicles for official purposes.
Current Vehicles Used by CM Nitish Kumar
So far, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has been seen using electric and Indian-made vehicles during government tours and public events. The decision to introduce bulletproof luxury vehicles comes in the context of enhancing the security of the Chief Minister. While technical details, models, and costs of these vehicles have not been officially disclosed, sources suggest their prices are expected to be significantly higher due to bulletproof specifications.

Even after acquiring these high-security vehicles, Nitish Kumar is likely to continue using electric and Indian vehicles for routine events. The Range Rover SUVs will primarily be used for high-security movements, large public gatherings, and special occasions.
Bihar Budget 2026-27 Highlights
On Monday, Bihar Finance Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav presented the state budget for 2026-27, totaling Rs 3,47,589 crore. This is an increase of Rs 30,69,474 crore compared to the previous year. The Finance Minister highlighted the steady growth of the state’s economy and stated that Bihar is poised to progress with knowledge, faith, science, sacrifice, and respect. Economic growth is expected to reach 14.9% in the coming year.
The government anticipates earning approximately Rs 65,800 crore from tax revenue in 2026-27. During the presentation, Finance Minister Yadav also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for their leadership.
