Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Attends Dastaarbandi Ceremony of Nabha Royal Family Member

Nabha, Punjab: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday visited Hira Mahal in Nabha, Punjab, to attend the ‘dastaarbandi’ (turban-tying ceremony) of Kunwar Abhyuday Pratap Singh from the Nabha royal family. He congratulated the family on the occasion and paid homage before the Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

Speaking at the event, CM Nayab Singh Saini described the day as one of pride and cultural significance, noting that the ceremony was not just a private family affair but a celebration of the Phulkian dynasty’s rich legacy, which has shaped the social and spiritual history of the region for centuries.

Nayab Singh Saini Commemorates Nabha Royals’ Historical and Cultural Legacy

Nayab Singh Saini recalled the contributions of Maharaja Hira Singh Ji, whose reign set benchmarks in administration and cultural preservation, and Maharaja Ripudaman Singh, whose courage and steadfastness upheld Sikh identity even under British rule.

The Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini also highlighted the spiritual blessings associated with the Nabha royal family, noting the divine boon granted by Tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji: “Tera ghar, mera aasra”, which continues to resonate through the preservation of sacred relics at Hira Mahal.

Expressing confidence in the younger generation, CMNayab Singh Saini said he believed Kunwar Abhyuday Pratap Singh would carry forward this heritage of faith, service, and cultural pride. The ceremony was attended by former Haryana MoS Manish Grover, Rani Preeti Singh, Kunwar Bhanu Pratap Singh, and other distinguished guests.
