CM Nitish Kumar News: The Bihar Government has launched the next phase of the “Chief Minister Women Employment Scheme,” offering financial support of up to Rs 2 lakh to eligible women entrepreneurs. This development comes six months after an initial amount of Rs 10,000 was transferred to women beneficiaries to help them start their businesses.

The additional assistance will be provided based on the success of their ventures, with over 1.56 crore women having already benefited from the Women Employment Scheme.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced the second phase on X, stating that the funds will be disbursed in two stages.

“In the first phase, one woman from each family received Rs 10,000 directly into her account through DBT. I am happy to share that the government has now started providing additional financial support of up to Rs 2 lakh to selected beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana,” the CM Nitish Kumar  said in his post.

The extra amount will be granted only if the initial funds were effectively used for business purposes. In successful cases, the support may be provided as a lump sum.

Linking beneficiaries to government initiatives

The government has instructed officials to ensure proper marketing support for the products created by these women. Beneficiaries will also be connected with initiatives such as garment production units, Sudha sales centers, and ‘Didi Ki Rasoi’ to generate further employment opportunities.

Officials said the Women Employment Scheme aims to enhance women’s financial independence, create sustainable employment within Bihar, and reduce the need for residents to seek jobs outside the state.
