Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches nine development projects in Khatima worth ₹33.36 crore, including high-tech bus station, roads, and water supply.
Khatima: As part of a significant push for civic and infrastructure development in the area, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami declared and laid the groundwork for nine development projects in Khatima valued at ₹33 crore and 36 lakh.
The projects, which include community facilities, public buildings, water supply, transportation infrastructure, and road construction, are intended to provide employment possibilities, comforts, and connection, according to an official release.
Inaugurated: Maharana Pratap Bus Station, High-Tech
The District Development Authority spent ₹11 crore and 27 lakh to build the new, high-tech Maharana Pratap Bus Station, which was one of the major projects that was officially opened. “The bus station will greatly improve public transport, boost local trade and tourism, and create new employment opportunities,” the Chief Minister stated, calling it a landmark achievement for Khatima.
The modern bus stand’s inauguration during the auspicious Makar Sankranti and Ghughutia festivals, according to CM Dhami, who spoke to the crowd, added extra significance. He stated that the project, which had been on hold for a while, was finished after numerous attempts and close observation.
Temple Enhancement and Sacred Buildings
Additionally, the Chief Minister declared plans to improve the area’s main places of worship. The Balaji Temple in Nanakmata will be completely beautified, and the Brahmadev Temple in Khatima, which is close to Lohiya Bridge, will be renovated.
To better serve pilgrims and tourists, the Devbhoomi Dharamshala will also be renovated with the installation of more rooms and a hall as well as general beautifying.
Water Supply, Drainage, and Road Projects
In order to increase connection in rural and semi-urban areas, the Sonukhari–Kishanpur–Barkidandi–Kaithula–Tukdi route would be constructed as a hot-mix road.
In order to improve the availability of drinking water, the Chief Minister also officially opened water supply projects costing ₹48.45 lakh in wards 7 and 8, comprising overhead tanks, pipelines, and tube wells.

Additionally, ₹225.62 lakh worth of drainage work from the lake in Majhola village to Poliganj was finished to solve waterlogging and sanitary problems.
Housing and Administrative Infrastructure
In the Nanakmata assembly region, residential complexes for tax inspectors and sub-inspectors were opened; they cost ₹490.21 lakh to construct. Additionally, ₹359.91 lakh was spent on the completion of office buildings for sub-inspectors, which strengthened the administrative infrastructure in the area.
Work on Community-Focused Development
The Khatima region was the subject of several community development initiatives. In order to increase access to drinking water, 300 hand pumps will be installed, costing ₹499.65 lakh.
The Maharana Pratap Gate, which will be built at a cost of ₹29.65 lakh, will be part of a new bus terminal in Khatima. ₹95 lakh will be spent to rebuild the Tharu Inter College in Khatima, and ₹24.50 lakh will be spent on modern public restrooms.
Accelerate Regional Development
According to the Chief Minister, the combined effect of these initiatives would boost civic services, create jobs, and improve infrastructure, all of which would hasten regional growth. He continued by saying that the state administration is still dedicated to balanced development throughout Uttarakhand, with a particular emphasis on enhancing infrastructure in rural and border regions.
