India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak confirms smooth communication between Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and coach Gautam Gambhir in ODIs.

Two of the greatest names in contemporary Indian cricket, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, are currently nearing the end of their careers.

The two are presently solely participating in One Day Internationals (ODI) after retiring from T20Is and Test cricket. However, there were rumors that they would play until the ICC World Cup in 2027.

The relationship between Rohit and Kohli and India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has even been the subject of rumors, with some people questioning whether everything is going smoothly behind the scenes. In an interview with media prior to the second ODI between India and New Zealand, the batting coach of India disclosed that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and head coach Gautam Gambhir “talk and plan about the ODI format. They are senior and experienced.” They have a lot of cricket experience. Thus, speaking with the coach and captain comes naturally to them. There doesn’t appear to be a communication gap. There is no doubt that they scheme.

“They want India to win each and every time they visit since that they are only playing one format. They can offer a lot of ideas with other players because of their extensive experience. They talk with Gautam about our matches, our intentions for South Africa, and the ODI format,” he continued.

Following a relatively dismal return to international cricket against Australia in Perth, Kohli and Rohit have improved dramatically, often hitting 50s and 100s.

In actuality, Kohli has scored two scores and two half hundreds in his previous four innings for India, the most recent of which was a 93 against New Zealand. Undoubtedly, these performances have given the seniors a great deal of confidence that they may continue until the 2027 ICC World Cup.
