Deepti Sharma becomes the top wicket-taker in women’s T20Is with 152 wickets, helping India complete a 5-0 series sweep over Sri Lanka.

Thiruvananthapuram: On Tuesday, during the fifth T20 International match against Sri Lanka in Thiruvananthapuram, Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma made history by becoming the top wicket-taker in women’s T20 Internationals after taking her 152nd wicket.

With the dismissal of Nilakshika Silva in the 14th over, Deepti surpassed Australia’s Megan Schutt (151) and helped India complete a decisive 5-0 series whitewash at home. Third rank goes to Nida Dar of Pakistan, who has taken 144 wickets in 152 innings.

Radha Yadav is the second-best Indian wicket-taker with 103 wickets in 86 innings. The only two Indian bowlers on the list with more than 100 T20I wickets are Radja and Deepti.

The 28-year-old made history earlier this week when he became the first player in both the men’s and women’s cricket leagues to achieve 1,000 runs and 150 wickets in T20 Internationals. Deepti, who currently holds the top spot in the ICC Women’s T20I all-rounder rankings, has played in 133 Twenty20 International matches for India. She was named player of the tournament at the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup, where India won their first domestic championship.

India won the match by 15 runs and completed a 5-0 series sweep after successfully defending 175. One for 28 from four overs was Deepti’s final score during the game. Deepti has grabbed 20 wickets in Tests and 162 in ODIs in addition to his T20I accomplishments.
