Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann inaugurates Rs 10 crore Batala Tehsil Complex, enhancing citizen services, infrastructure, and welfare initiatives.

The Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann dedicated the recently built Batala Tehsil Complex here on Saturday as part of yet another citizen-centric effort, offering the populace all the standard administrative services in one location.

The new Tehsil Complex was built at a cost of Rs 10 crore, the Chief Minister told reporters, adding that he feels privileged to have been given the chance to help build this holy city. People from 314 communities will now be able to access a variety of government services under one roof thanks to the new complex’s construction, he added. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, this Tehsil is responsible for the Batala Sub-Division, as well as the villages of Dera Baba Nanak and Kahnuwan, as well as the Vidhan Sabha constituency of Fatehgarh Churian, Qadian, Sri Hargobindpur Sahib, and Batala.

As a result, the Chief Minister stated that this facility will greatly help the people living in six assembly constituencies. According to him, the complex was built on a one-acre and 5.5-kanal plot of land, with the foundation stone being placed on January 4, 2024. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Tehsil Complex has a citizen service center in addition to the offices of the SDM, Tehsildar, Kanungo, and Patwaris.

According to the Chief Minister, the complex also features a state-of-the-art e-Registry office, and a lift has been erected for the benefit of the general public. A well-appointed waiting area with cozy chairs and potable water is part of the facility, he said. Residents’ administrative tasks would be made easy by the new Tehsil Complex’s proximity to the Judicial Complex and Police Lines, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann.

In response to a question, the chief minister stated that the central government, which is run by the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been frantically attempting to get admission to Punjab University through a backdoor, which will not be permitted. According to him, Punjab University in Chandigarh has always been a part of the state’s rich literary, artistic, and emotional heritage. The Punjab government will not permit any such action in the greater interest of the students, Bhagwant Singh Mann lamented, despite frequent attempts to alter the university’s standing.

According to the chief minister, the BJP is determined to destroy the state because they have anti-Punjab sentiment. According to him, the BJP forbids state tableaus from taking part in Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations. Similarly, Bhagwant Singh Mann claimed that the saffron party’s antagonistic stance toward the state is also reflected in the excessive meddling in BBMB, Punjab University, and other matters.

In response to another question, the chief minister stated that the state government is planning a number of activities to honor Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji’s 350th martyrdom day. According to him, Rs 70 crore is being spent on the comprehensive development of about 140 cities and villages that bear the ninth Sikh Guru’s imprints. Similarly, from November 23 to 25, the state government will host major events, including as a special Vidhan Sabha session, at Sri Anandpur Sahib, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The Chief Minister voiced concern that democracy may be doomed due to the Election Commission of India’s waning legitimacy. If any political party raises concerns about EVM and vote stealing, he said, the Election Commission should make its stance clear. However, it is incorrect for Bhagwant Singh Mann to claim that the Election Commission is silent while the BJP serves as its spokesperson.

According to the Chief Minister, the state Congress Chief and the entire Congress leadership are plagued by a feudal mentality, which leads them to use derogatory words against the average citizenry. He reminded everyone that this is not the first time Warring has made such a blatant claim, as these arrogant leaders frequently do. Leaders like Partap Singh Bajwa, Sunil Jakhar (now in the BJP), and others have used the same language, according to Bhagwant Singh Mann, even against a previous chief minister of their own party.

According to the Chief Minister, the state government has fully awarded government jobs based on merit to over 55,000 qualified youth. Similarly, Bhagwant Singh Mann stated that the state government’s creation of the Sadak Surakhya Force has resulted in a 48% decrease in traffic accident fatalities, and the Indian government has also praised the program. Bhagwant Singh Mann added that 265 students from these and other government schools qualified for the JEE Mains exam because the state government established Schools of Eminence around the state to provide high-quality education to the kids.

According to the Chief Minister, 848 students have qualified for NEET, and 44 students have passed JEE Advanced. According to Bhagwant Singh Mann, 881 Aam Aadmi Clinics have established in the previous three years, and there will soon be more than 1,000 of them. He also stated that approximately 2 crore people have received free medication from these clinics to date. He added that 19 toll plazas have been closed in the state, saving the people Rs 67 lakh every day, and that 90% of homes in the state now receive free electricity thanks to the state government’s coordinated efforts.
