PSEB held a 3-day lecture series across Punjab to honor Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom Anniversary, inspiring youth with his teachings.
In honor of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of the Ninth Guru Sahib, the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) arranged a three-day lecture series with the goal of introducing the younger generation to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji’s timeless teachings, unmatched sacrifice, and eternal legacy. From November 3rd to November 7th, these lectures were place at holy locations in Punjab that are strongly connected to Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s last tour.
Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains elaborated on the PSEB’s initiative, saying that the seminar series was carefully planned along the historic route where Bhai Jaita Ji (Baba Jiwan Singh Ji) carried the sacred Sis (Head) of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji from Delhi to Sri Anandpur Sahib, giving students an immersive and profoundly affecting educational experience.
He added that the three-day seminar series finished on November 7 at Government Kanya Senior Secondary School, Sri Anandpur Sahib, after starting on November 3 at Senior Secondary School, Dayalpur Sodhian (Sis Asthan, Nabha Sahib), and continuing on November 6 at School of Eminence, Kiratpur Sahib.
During the seminars, more than 2,600 students learned about the lives, teachings, and unmatched sacrifices of the Chotte Sahibzade, Mata Gujri Ji, and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The seminars, according to S. Harjot Singh Bains, were centered on the Ninth Guru Sahib’s ultimate sacrifice for the defense of courage and dharam (faith and righteousness), turning the historical event into a dynamic lesson for the young minds.
“Where there is the teaching of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, there is the victory of humanity,” said Education Minister Bains, expressing gratitude for the PSEB’s initiative. The fact that today’s youth comprehend and accept the teachings of the Guru sahib is a source of great pride. This was more than just a ceremony; it was an educational adventure to help our young people connect with our basic principles.
The success of the program depends on students internalizing the lessons and incorporating the Guru’s teachings into their daily lives, stressed PSEB Chairman Dr. Amarpal Singh. As young minds are inspired by Guru Sahib’s life and learn truth, courage, and righteousness, the real purpose of education is achieved. “Not just students, but conscientious citizens,” he continued.
