Punjab Tourism Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond announces Rs 21.52 crore Tent City at Sri Anandpur Sahib to host 12,000 devotees for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s 350th Martyrdom.

The establishment of a massive tent city at Sri Anandpur Sahib to house devotees attending the ceremonies of the 350th Martyrdom Anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was announced by Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.

In order to provide adequate lodging for the devotees, he explained, the Tent City is being established at three locations: Agampur, PSPCL Ground Matour, and Jhinjri. The establishment of Tent City is costing the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs about Rs. 21.52 crore.

“Arrangements are being made to accommodate 10,000 to 12,000 devotees per day, with all the necessary amenities to make their stay comfortable and hassle-free,” the minister stated. From November 19 to November 30, the Tent City will continue to provide services.

He added that information regarding the tents’ online reservations will be released soon. Additionally, the approach roads leading to the Tent City are being improved to allow for easier mobility.

The Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs has been assigned the role of nodal department for the effective planning and coordinating of these commemorative events, Sond continued. He gave his word that every effort is being made with the highest commitment to ensure that the celebrations are unforgettable.
