A talented girl from Bihar named Pragati Jha has definitely lived up to her name, earning great achievement. She is planning to fly to London for research after receiving a scholarship worth Rs 4.5 crores from the British government. Pragati will study global warming for the next three years.

Pragati Jha, from Bangaon in Saharsa district, has received a prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship from the British government. She will receive Rs 1.5 crore per year for her studies and research during a three-year period. She will study marine science at a prestigious university in England.

Her family and the entire hamlet are overjoyed at her accomplishment. Her father, a lawyer, expressed delight in her hard work and talent, citing her progression from primary school in the countryside to secondary schooling in Ranchi and then to Kerala via ICR, which led to her current achievement.

Pragati’s accomplishments have brought honor to her village, state, and the entire country. Her dedication to research on global warming is inspiring. She emphasized the necessity of stabilizing climate change and developing green energy in combating global warming.

She highlighted the possibilities for green energy production from seawater in coastal areas such as Gujarat and Bengal. While solar energy is growing, it has yet to reach the scale required for huge companies. Pragati believes that expanding the usage of green energy will progressively reduce the problem of global warming.

Pragati decided to conduct research on climate change, ocean protection and usage, and marine resources for sustainable development. After finishing her studies, she intends to return to India and contribute to the country’s efforts to combat global warming.

The British government will pay for her research expenditures, including travel to and from London. Pragati is the first student from Bihar to receive this honor.

The Commonwealth Scholarship, established by the British government, provides scholarships to deserving students from Commonwealth countries. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office manages the initiative, which attempts to attract outstanding individuals to UK universities while also supporting sustainable development. Each year, 800 students are awarded this grant.

Applicants must apply through nominated institutions, first enrolling on the MHRD website and then on the ECAS portal, before the deadline.
