Uttar Pradesh Tourism to Shine at PATA 2025 Bangkok with Spiritual and Cultural Showcase
UP Gears Up for International Tourism Promotion at PATA 2025 in Bangkok
Lucknow : In a strategic move to catapult Uttar Pradesh onto the global tourism map, the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is preparing for a high-profile participation at the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Travel Mart 2025 in Bangkok. Scheduled from August 26 to 28, this international event promises to be a major platform for showcasing the spiritual, cultural, and historical grandeur of India’s most populous state.
Showcasing the Best of Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department is curating a visually captivating 36-square-meter stall that will highlight the state’s most iconic destinations. Key attractions include the Buddhist Circuit — Sarnath, Kushinagar, and Shravasti — as well as spiritually significant cities like Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj, home of the Mahakumbh.
Equipped with LED wall screens, auto-navigation displays, and an Augmented Reality (AR) selfie panel, the stall aims to offer an immersive experience. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to digitally interact with scenic backdrops of major UP destinations and click AR selfies—bringing a taste of Uttar Pradesh to the heart of Thailand.
ODOP, Handicrafts, and Temple Architecture on Display
In addition to promoting tourism, the stall will highlight the state’s economic and cultural initiatives. Central to this is the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative, which promotes indigenous crafts and local enterprise from each of the 75 districts of UP. Visitors will get to explore intricate handicrafts, weaving traditions, and artisan products rooted in centuries-old practices.
The exhibit will also feature miniatures and visual presentations of UP’s historic temples, focusing on their unique architecture and spiritual significance, providing an enriching narrative of the state’s civilizational depth.
One-Day International Roadshow to Boost Engagement
Taking its promotional strategy further, the UP government will organize a one-day international roadshow in Bangkok, either preceding or following the main PATA event. The roadshow, expected to draw over 100 international stakeholders, will serve as a hub for travel agents, tourism media, and influencers.
Held at one of Bangkok’s premier venues—The Westin Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, or Radisson Blu Plaza—the event will include seminars, workshops, and B2B sessions. The focus will be on UP’s travel packages and investment prospects in tourism infrastructure, hospitality, and cultural exchange.
Promoting Investment and Partnerships
Officials say that UP’s presence at PATA 2025 aims not only to attract tourists but also to encourage global investment in the state’s rapidly growing tourism sector. The roadshow and exhibition will showcase promotional materials, documentaries, and curated photographs to inform and engage potential partners.
To ensure effective communication, English-speaking officers and local interpreters will be on hand to assist visitors and media representatives. This multilingual approach underscores the state’s commitment to international hospitality and cultural diplomacy.
Global Appeal with Local Roots
This initiative is part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader tourism vision under the Yogi Adityanath administration, which has prioritized the revival of ancient religious sites, infrastructure upgrades, and digital tourism tools. With the Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 and Ram Mandir in Ayodhya emerging as major spiritual draws, UP is positioning itself as India’s spiritual tourism capital.
Officials believe that participation in a prestigious global event like PATA Travel Mart will significantly elevate UP’s global tourism profile, bringing in not just footfalls but also partnerships and foreign exchange.
