CM Mann Asserts Punjab Is Prepared to Face Any Crisis, Ensures Full Support to Indian Armed Forces
Chandigarh, May 10, 2025 — In a decisive move to enhance border preparedness, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday announced the deployment of emergency fire and rescue machinery worth ₹47 crore in sensitive border areas of the state. With escalating India-Pakistan tensions, Mann declared that Punjab is ready to provide full support to the Armed Forces and ensure the safety of its border residents.
The newly deployed machinery, consisting of high-tech fire tenders, rescue kits, and disaster management tools, will be stationed in strategic and vulnerable locations such as Pathankot, Rajasansi, and Ferozepur.
Strategic Deployment for Maximum Safety
Addressing a public gathering, CM Mann emphasized that the state government is fully alert to the situation along the border. The ₹47 crore investment includes:
- Multipurpose Fire Tenders
- Quick Response Vehicles (QVRs)
- Disaster Deployment Kits (DD Kits)
- Hydraulic Combi Tool Collapse Structure and Rescue Kits (CSSR Kits)
- Gas Detectors and Fire Entry Suits
- Battery Backup Lighting Towers
“These resources will not only bolster our disaster preparedness but also serve as first-response mechanisms in times of emergency,” said Mann.
Strengthening Rescue and Relief Capabilities
According to the Chief Minister, this upgraded emergency infrastructure will significantly improve rescue and relief operations in case of cross-border incidents or natural disasters.
“These machines will be crucial in ensuring a swift response in crisis situations, especially for communities living close to the border,” he stated.
The machinery will be maintained by trained personnel and supported by local fire stations, with civil defence teams undergoing continuous training to handle any emerging situation efficiently.
Commitment to Border Residents and National Security
CM Mann reiterated his government’s commitment to protecting the lives and livelihoods of residents in border districts. He said that the state administration is working in tandem with national defense authorities to ensure a coordinated crisis response system.
“We are leaving no stone unturned. Punjab is fully prepared and firmly stands with the Indian Army,” said Mann.

Assurance Against Panic and Shortage
In light of growing concerns among the public, CM Mann urged citizens to remain calm and avoid panic buying. He assured that the government has already secured essential supplies and warned against hoarding or black marketing.
“There is no shortage of any commodity. Any attempt to create artificial scarcity will be dealt with strictly,” Mann warned.

The move to deploy emergency machinery is part of a larger strategy to modernize Punjab’s disaster and emergency response systems. Officials confirmed that the state will continue to invest in technology, training, and infrastructure in coordination with central agencies.
