In Madhya Pradesh, nine teachers who remained absent for a long period of time, some of them for years, have also been served notices

In Madhya Pradesh’s tribal-dominated Dindori district, at least 11 government school instructors were discovered regularly attending classes while intoxicated, according to a review report issued by the local tribal affairs department. According to officials, a departmental investigation has been launched against them.

Nine more teachers who have been absent for an extended length of time, according to the officials, have also received notices.

Assistant Commissioner Tribal Affairs Department District (Dindori), Santosh Shukla, provided this data, stating that he had called a conference of block education officers on June 28 to look into the claims of teachers who have been missing and those who have shown up to class intoxicated.

About eleven or twelve instructors have been charged with drinking while in the classroom. We’ve opened a departmental investigation into them. They will need to defend their actions.

They haven’t yet been suspended, though. It will only become evident via a medical report whether or not they truly drank alcohol, according to Shukla.

Nine instructors who missed work for extended periods of time—some of which for years—have also received notices. Most likely, they took other jobs without telling the department. According to Shukla, they were not paid for the time they were away.

Because they have two wives, at least seven instructors are in violation of civil service regulations. “We are looking into these allegations. A few of these cases are also pending in court, according to Shukla. Similar investigations would be carried out in all development blocks to enhance the educational program in the district’s government schools, according to Shukla.
