Uttar Pradesh: 27 killed, several injured in stampede at religious event in Hatha’s.

Tuesday during a “satsang” (religious gathering) in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, at least 27 people died in a stampede. Overcrowding, according to the authorities, was the cause of the stampede.

 

Umesh Kumar Tripathi, the chief medical officer (CMO) of Etah, reported that numerous injured individuals have been admitted to nearby hospitals for treatment, and that 27 bodies—25 women and 2 men—were delivered to the post-mortem house.

 

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, sent his sympathies to the families of the stampede victims. He gave the order for officials to arrive at the scene of the accident and begin providing aid.

“UP CM Yogi Adityanath has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of those who died in the accident in Hathras district,” the office of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated on X.

 

He has also wished for the injured people to heal quickly. He has instructed district administration representatives to expedite relief efforts on the scene and to transport injured patients right away to a hospital for appropriate care. He has instructed ADG Agra and Commissioner Aligarh to conduct the investigation into the incident’s causes.”

 

According to an official source, a team led by the Commissioner of Aligarh and ADG Agra has been formed to investigate what caused the occurrence.

An extensive investigation is being conducted to ascertain the facts leading up to the unfortunate event, and local officials and emergency personnel are present at the scene.
