Construction commences for School of Eminence in historic town Kiratpur Sahib: Harjot Singh Bains

The Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, has taken a significant step towards fulfilling a decades-old demand of the historic town of Kiratpur Sahib in Sri Anandpur Sahib Assembly constituency.

Providing details, Punjab Cabinet Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains announced that construction work has begun on two new blocks for the School of Eminence in Kiratpur Sahib. The Punjab Public Works Department officials initiated these projects today in the presence of local residents.

S. Bains, while reiterating his commitment to the comprehensive development of Kiratpur Sahib which had been neglected for decades, said that this development addresses a long-standing demand of the inhabitants of this historically and religiously significant town.

The Cabinet minister elaborated that the School of Eminence project includes the construction of two new blocks, a multipurpose hall, laboratory, a library, classrooms, toilet facilities, the installation of an elevator and renovation of existing block.

The Cabinet Minister highlighted previous developmental initiatives in Kiratpur Sahib, such as the beautification of Patalpuri Chowk, adorned with a rabab (a stringed instrument). He mentioned that projects like the sewage treatment plant are proving to be beneficial for the residents.

S. Bains revealed that comprehensive plans are being formulated to transform this sacred land, which has been graced by six Sikh Gurus. He added that Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is actively pursuing efforts to develop the area’s natural beauty as a tourist attraction.
